Description

You will not find cheese like this in the supermarket! This is Farmhouse cheddar at its finest. The distinct extra mature nutty flavour of our Extra Tasty Cheddar will transport you back through the ages to rural Somerset. Back to the good old days of hay making in the sun, slowly ploughing fields with your trusty horse and hand milking the herd using only a bucket and a three legged stool. Traditionally matured for 12 to 18 months this cheddar packs a punch while still retaining a smooth texture. A firm favourite with the locals, this cheese also has an international reputation with Gold awards at the ‘World Cheese Awards’ and more recently, a Gold at ‘The Global Cheese Awards 2016’. Take this opportunity to tuck into a slice of history.

    The cheese is very good. Of course, postage inevitably puts the price up. I used to get it from Morrisons in Carterton under the soubriquet Goulds, but then they stopped stocking it and although I repeatedly badgered them it never reappeared. Are there any other stockists where I can get it over the counter? Can Morrisons be persuaded to sell it again?

    Buy regularly, great tasty cheese that I would recommend highly. So annoying that it isn’t stocked anywhere near me so I could buy as and when. The postage is a bit off putting but it is always dispatched really quickly. Great product and a good place to buy from.

    OMG This is the best cheese EVER. I will never go back to an ordinary cheddar again. It is costing a fortune to deliver but worth it, the only problem is that I am buy it in large quantities to save on postage but just end up eating more of it. I may end up having to move closer to the Farm😁

    The Handmade Farmhouse Extra Tasty is a unique cheese in the best sense of the word. Like it says it is extremely tasty, creamy beyond any cheese I’ve tasted, it melts in your mouth and lingers there. It truly is the finest of cheeses in my view. I will certainly be ordering again very soon!
    I can’t recommend this cheese and farm business highly enough.

    If cheese alone was to be scored, then 10 out of 5 would represent an unfair score. This cheese not only has a taste of its own but can be judged as one of Britain’s best, the French really should be given a chance of the experience. The only reason for the lack of a point is the delivery, which I hasten to add was nothing of the cheesemakers or farmers doing. This is the kind of cheese one wishes to tell and show everyone that you have found, one for the cheeseboard, permanently.
